WESTMINSTERITE

Between 2010-2014, the “WESTMINSTERITE” was a monthly City of Westminster-level newsletter published by Anna Diamond in London. The newsletter was first published on 14 August 2010 and it was originally established an A3 size double-sided 70GM NL.

The WESTMINSTERITE concentrated in particular on printing City of Westminster College students’ Great Photo-shots taken from around Westminster, hosting youths’ scoops, gossip and fashion news. Its editor Anna Diamond’s somewhat focus on young’s (in the phase of life between ages 15-19) illicit alcohol use and college students’ peccadilloes gained it the nickname Westie. In its last year it had a reputation for exposing the King’s College London students’ drug consumption with photographic evidence. A private investigator hired by a student started to engulf the Westminsterite. At its closure time still had high circulations.

Once Eric Gordon, founding editor of the Westminster Extra, told her: I am proud of you Anna, and I love your imagination. There are many papers illustrating student’s lives with styles that are so similar to each other, like copies of one another, but yours are one of a kind.”

In 2018, the WESTMINSTERITE moved its operation online publishing photographs of City of Westminster considered to be most important, most iconic, most influential or most beautiful not limited by time period, ward, genre, topic, or other specific criteria, - but all considered key images in the history of City of Westminster.
